Pre & Post Wedding Events

Welcome Drinks (Optional), 6:45pm

Tommy’s | Queenstown

Theme: ‘Ugly’ sweater

If you can make it to New Zealand on Friday night, we would love to welcome you to one of our favourite places on earth with some fiery and plentiful refreshments at some of Queenstown’s finest and most daring establishments, and perhaps end the night with some delectable Fergburgers. Since Edwin is a silly goose and Regan loves to dress warmly, our theme is ‘ugly sweater,’ although ugly is subjective and we won’t judge. We would love it if you donned your most garish and outlandish sweaters on a sociable and joyous night out around Queenstown. This will be a bar crawl but we encourage you to come and go whenever you want. There will be bar tabs + some food at a couple of stops along the way, but we suggest planning to have dinner beforehand.

Optional Bonus Bar:
6:15 – Birdy – if you want to start the night with a Money Shot we will see you here 🙂

Official Event Timeline:
6:45pm – Tommy’s
8:00pm – Below Zero
9:00pm – Zephyr
10:00pm – Winnies

Monday, 2nd September 2024

Post-Wedding Brunch (Optional), 11:00am

Edgewater Hotel | Wānaka

Dress: Casual

If you’re not ready for the party to end just yet, please join us for an optional recovery brunch the day after our wedding. Dress comfortably, casually and snugly.

RSVP

Flights & Travel Visa

We recommend flying into Queenstown Airport.

You can check travel documentation requirements on the NZ Immigration website here.

Getting to Wanaka

Wānaka is just over an hour’s drive from Queenstown.

Car hire: you can receive a 10% discount on car hire via Thrifty using code ‘12234667’.

Transfer services: we recommend Wanaka Transfers & Yello.

Hiring a car is our top recommendation as Wānaka has taxis but no other public transport to get around.

Accommodation

Wānaka is a small community. The town centre is a great place to start your accommodation search as it is close to the beautiful lakefront and a very walkable area. We recommend researching options on booking.com.

Additionally, our local team recommends these hotels:

Holiday homes are also a very popular option:

Things to do in Wanaka

We chose Wanaka not only because it is stunning but also because there are heaps of awesome things to do.
Check out the Lake Wānaka page here for some inspo.

FAQs

Please RSVP by 30 June 2024

Our ceremony and canapés will be outdoors (weather permitting) and the reception will be indoors.

Wānaka is located in an alpine environment. The temperature at this time of year typically stays below 10°C.

‘Black Tie Optional’: We ask that men wear a dark suit and tie or tuxedo, and women wear a cocktail dress, gown or similar formalwear.

This is a formal occasion so we encourage you to dress up! But above all we want you to be comfortable, so please wear what feels warm and formal to you.

Part of our wedding is outdoors, so please wear layers and shoes that are comfortable to walk on grass and uneven ground.

At the moment we are only extending an invite to those named on your invitation.

Our guest list is relatively small. If you would like to bring a +1, please let us know when you RSVP and we will reach out to you if we can accommodate them closer to the date.

Our wedding events will be adults-only. If you are travelling with children, Wānaka has some fabulous babysitting services that we can recommend:

You have the option of driving or taking a taxi.

Wānaka has two taxi companies:

  • Wana Taxi  //  0800 926 282
  • Yello  //  0800 443 5555

Wanaka has limited taxi services so we recommend that you book in advance and if possible, as a group.

Note: there are no rideshare companies operating in Wānaka.

We kindly ask that you put away your mobile phones and cameras during the ceremony to be fully present with us.

We promise to share all of the beautiful memories captured by our wonderful photographer and videographer.

Please take as many pictures and share as much as you like of yourselves, the venue, the scenery and the vibes of the weekend.

However, we kindly ask that you don’t share content containing us (Regan + Edwin) online. We already get to share these wonderful memories with our nearest and dearest (you!) and appreciate you allowing us to choose what we share with others.

We are so grateful that you are taking time off work and flying across the world to be with us. You attending our wedding is truly the greatest gift that we could ask for.

Please know that other gifts are not expected, but if you would like to contribute towards our new lives together there will be space to give us a card on the day.

Here on the website! If there is anything important we may also email you.

Let us know! We will be travelling in the lead up to our wedding, so if you can’t reach us via our usual channels (text, Messenger or WhatsApp) please email us at reganandedwin@gmail.com.
